greek revival cottage

  • 2009

this small cottage home was designed for a village neighborhood of historic houses in the colonial, queen anne, and greek revival styles. the house - which was customized for an elder resident - has a simple plan with living, dining, kitchen and porch spaces sharing the first floor with a master suite. two guest bedrooms are tucked under the eaves of the second floor, and a garage and mudroom occupy the ground level at the sloping rear of the site. over-scaled windows provide welcome light and views to the street which is alive with the foot traffic of village residents, babies in the strollers, postal carriers and pups on leashes.
