this early 20th century home north of boston had many fine features with which to work as we set out upon its renovation and expansion. the owners are proud stewards of the house and wanted to preserve its traditional feel while expanding it to better suit their needs. since the site is narrow and the road runs closely along the side of the house, the addition was made to what is actually the rear of the existing structure, along the street edge. it includes a new and expanded kitchen, a covered exterior walkway and patio, and a two-story garage structure with a home fitness area and office above. also included was the renovation of a handsomely paneled first floor library and the expansion of the master bedroom to include a master bath and dressing area.
